North Bay Police responded to 221 calls for service on the weekend with nine people charged for a variety of offences.

They include harassment, impaired driving, theft of a motor vehicle, assault and trespass by night to name a few.

 

A 19 year old North Bay man is facing charges after a call to police early Saturday about suspicious activity.

It’s alleged unlocked vehicles were entered in the Beattie, Jane and Copeland Streets area.

The man is charged with possession of property obtained by crime and breach.

Police seized several items including loose change, food, alcohol, glasses, a vehicle owner’s manual and a stuffed animal.

 

City police have charged a 24 year old Corbeil man with harassment after an incident early Sunday morning.

Police say a woman saw a man walking on Algonquin Avenue and called out to him, suggesting he move off the road for his own safety.

It’s alleged he started yelling at her, following and chasing her.

She called 911 with police locating the man a short time later on Front Street.

 

And a 26 year old city man is facing several charges including impaired and driving while under suspension after an early morning incident today (Monday).

It’s alleged police saw an SUV with B.C. plates drive down a grass embankment from a parking lot on the 1400 block of Seymour Street.

The man was charged after a traffic stop.
