Over 700 people helped raise $124,000 at the Our Hospital Walk/Run

Over $124,000 was raised during Sunday’s 9th annual Our Hospital Walk/Run in support of medical equipment purchases and programming at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

Over 700 people took part.

“It is inspiring to see our community rally together to raise funds for our hospital,” Tiz Silveri, Vice President of Clinical and Chief Nursing Executive told the crowd during the opening ceremonies. “Proceeds will stay local and will help purchase needed medical equipment to assist with patient care,” Silveri said.

Officials say the community’s fundraising efforts are focused on supporting the purchase of a Central Fetal Monitoring System for Labour and Delivery, the six-bed Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unit and a GreenLight Laser for the treatment of enlarged prostates.
