Work is underway to improve safety at the intersection of Highways 17 and 94 in East Ferris.

MPP Vic Fedeli says the nearly $6-million project will include permanent traffic signals, pavement rehabilation, lowering of the profile west of the intersection and drainage improvements.

He joined East Ferris Mayor Pauline Rochefort to announce details of the project.

“Safety concerns regarding the intersection here at Highways 17 and 94 that have lingered literally for decades,” said Fedeli. “It’s so exciting to be part of the government that is finally addressing these concerns once and for all.”

It’s expected the project will be completed this fall.

Work this winter will include grading components.
