Poutine, Pints and Plaid fundraiser event is coming

A fundraiser for the Learning Disabilities Association of North Bay is coming up.

The Rotaract Club of North Bay-Nipissing is putting on the Poutine, Pints and Plaid event at the Grande Event Centre on February 8th.

Event co-coordinator Brittany Chaput says they would like to raise around $5,000.

Chaput says last year they raised $9,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society.

“Usually our target tends to be $5,000. We exceeded our expectations last year. In the last 4 years we’ve raised $20,000,” she says.

She says in other years they’ve also raised funds for the splash pad project, the hospital foundation and Big Brothers-Big Sisters.

Chaput says the doors open at 8 and there’ll be games, a DJ, a Poutine Buffet and a cash bar. Tickets are $35.
