Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the North Bay area involving Monday’s forecast.

The agency says an extended period of freezing rain is expected for areas from Sault Ste. Marie to North Bay.

Freezing rain, along with snow and ice pellets are possible.

It’s all thanks to a strong low pressure system from Colorado that will track over Northeastern Ontario.

The precipitation is expected to end Tuesday morning.
