Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli says the province is planning to help Ontario entrepreneurs to succeed and create jobs by cutting burdensome red tape, including here in Nipissing.

“It’s a piece of red tape that stops their growth and development. It hurts our businesses and non profits. This will allow credit unions to partner with proposals that are led by the banks,” he says.

Alterna Savings has a branch in North Bay.

Regional Manager Dennis Ryan applauds the move.

“It’s a great change for the credit union space. It opens up a market for us and levels the competition field as well,” Ryan says.

Fedeli says they need to pass legislation to make this happen.
