Human trafficking in the north will be the focus of a conference early next month in Sudbury.

Police partners including Northeast Region OPP, North Bay Police and Greater Sudbury Police are teaming up to host the event.

Various speakers are lined up, including survivors of human trafficking and others.

Today (Friday) is Human Trafficking Awareness Day and city police tweeted that everybody has a role to play.

They say talking to friends, family and kids about it can help protect them.
