Seventy-four drivers across the Northeast, including 20 in the North Bay Detachment area, were charged with distracted driving offences by OPP in the last week.
Most of the charges, 71, involved driving with a hand-held communication device.
One charge was for having a display screen being visible to the driver while two more were for careless driving.
The annual distracted driving campaign ran from March 11th to the 17th.
Police say drivers caught talking on their phones, texting, dialing or emailing using a hand-held device will be fined up to $1,000 with a three-day licence suspension and three demerit points upon conviction.

West Nipissing Police say there was a multi vehicle accident ton the weekend in Sturgeon Falls.

Police say a truck hit another vehicle and it struck several parked cars.

One of the drivers suffered minor injuries and several of the vehicles were damaged.
