The Nipissing Branch of the Canadian International Council will be hearing Wednesday night from a Canadian Forces veteran who has served around the world including in Afghanistan and the Congo.

Lieutenant Colonel Marie-Ève Tremblay is the Assistant Judge Advocate General Eastern Region.

She says she will be talking about her experiences and the importance of the rule of law in non traditional places.

“What struck me was the desire to improve the situation and to work with us so the rule of law was re-inforced through different projects,” she says.

She says she will also be promoting the military as a life for women.

She says it’s been an advantage at times in her work.

“In Congo they allowed me privileged access to other women. We were able to understand their reality through that. Men didn’t get that access,” she says.

Her talk begins at 7:00 p.m. at the coworkingspace at 176 Lakeshore Drive.
