St. Joseph’s Scollard Hall is competing at the OFSAA girls triple-A hockey tournament in Midland.

The Bears are 1-1.

After dropping their first game 3-2 to a school from Peterborough they rebounded for a 2-1 win against Loretto Abbey Catholic Secondary School from Toronto.

Their final round robin game is against Villanova from Southwestern Ontario at 9:25 Thursday morning.

A few hundred high school curlers are in North Bay for the boys and girls OFSAA championship.

Draws are underway in North Bay and Sturgeon Falls — with 38 teams entered.

Chippewa lost its opener 8-4 in boys action to St Ignatius High School while on the girls side, Widdifield lost their opener 10-2 to Fort Frances High School.

Chippewa’s next game is against North Park  while Widdifield plays next at 11 am Thursday against Central Huron Secondary School.
