North Bay Police are investigating after a counterfeit American $100 bill was used on a take-out order at a Lakeshore Drive restaurant on the evening of March 30th.

Police say after the man left, the person working the cash register became concerned with the quality of the bill.

It was taken to city police last Monday and it has now been determined to be counterfeit.

The man is described as 18 to 24 years old, about 5’5” in height and 145 pounds, with a slim build and sandy brown hair.

At the time he was wearing jeans and had a large scrape on his chin.

He used a red fabric wallet.

Offiicials say anyone with information is asked to call the North Bay Police Service at 705-497-5555 and select option 9 to speak to a police officer.

Constable Ethier is investigating.
