Water levels were up on Lake Nipissing yesterday

The weekend rain and wind pushed water over some sand bags on Jocko Point.

Nipissing First Nation officials say the homes are now protected but sandbagging efforts continue and volunteers are still needed.

They say the water level in Lake Nipissing rose about 3 cm with winds affecting gauges in North Bay and French River.

Last night they said levels were expected to rise a bit more then begin to slowly decrease.

The flood warning continues for the area until at least Wednesday.
