Some top finishes for CT33 Thunderbirds swimmers at the Jeno Tihanyi Long Course Championship in Sudbury.

Ten-year-old Owen Baas won four races and broke several club records.

Other swimmers earning first place finishes at the event were Robby Baas, 12, and Jenna Wall, 15.

Swimmers with achieving top three placements were Albert Bouley, 12, Trael Daly Stevens, 16, Fia Diorio, 12 and Peyton Paralovos, 13.

Top eight finishes were recorded by Timothy Corbeil, 13, Samuel Denomme, 15, Sophie Durocher, 11, Jesse Hammond, 18, Grace Hong, 13, Emilia Lainevool, 15, Ayden Michaud, 16, Ryleigh Paralovos, 11 and Madilyn Reaume, 12.

Personal best times were posted by most Thunderbirds with special mention to Abigail Betsill, 12, Gabriel Cadieux, 14, Sydney Doidge, 14, Evan Kilroy, 17, Brody Marietti, 15, Noah Papatheodorou, 15, Jaiden Paralovos, 15 and Cole Paralovos, 17.

Members of the Thunderbird team who have qualified for provincial and national events will continue to train throughout June and July.

Owen Baas will be competing at the 2019 Ontario Summer Festival Championships June 14th to 16th at the Markham Pan Am Pool.

Fia Diorio, Samuel Denomme, Jesse Hammond and Sheldon Kilroy qualified to compete at the 2019 Summer Ontario Youth Junior Championships June 27th to June 30th at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre in Brantford.

Team members Jenna Wall, Trael Daly Stevens, Sam Denomme and Evan Kilroy will be attending the 2019 Summer Ontario Swimming Championships June 27th to 30th at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre.

Later in the summer, Trael Daly Stevens and Samuel Denomme will travel to Calgary, Alberta to compete at the 2019 Canadian Junior Champioships July 24th to July 29th at the Respol Sports Centre.
