A 36 year old North Bay man is facing several charges including failing to stop for police, assaulting a police officer and possession of cocaine.

Police say they were attempting to conduct a traffic stop on Algonquin Avenue for a Highway Traffic Act violation.

Police say the vehicle involved did not stop as directed and the motorist eventually drove into a parking lot on a side street.

When police attempted to arrest the driver the officer was assaulted.

Police seized 6 grams of suspected cocaine upon arrest.

A 20 year old North Bay man is facing several charges including possession of property obtained by crime and possession of break-in instruments.

Police say they were called to a downtown intersection regarding a dispute over a bicycle.

The dispute revolves around a mountain bike taken previously.

Police say the victim noticed the bike at the intersection with someone else and police were called.

Police also discovered several tools and laid a possession of break-in Instruments charge.

There were no injuries after a house fire on Derland Road in Corbeil on Sunday.

The East Ferris Volunteer Fire Department was called around 11 am with reports of smoke coming out of the eaves.

Officials say the structure was fully involved when crews arrived on the scene.

There’s no damage estimate at this time.

The investigation continues.

No one was home at the time of the fire.
