Women are being encouraged to make their health a priority on Wednesday with the annual Mammothon Breast Screening Challenge at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

The event goes from 7 am to 7 pm.

Officials are looking for as many women as possible, between the ages of 50 and 74, to book and complete a mammogram.

The regional campaign helps address common barriers to regular screening like fear, embarrassment, limited time and lack of awareness.

A doctors referral is not needed and parking is free for the event.
