A survey involving the return of passenger rail to the region has been created, with a couple of groups encouraging local residents to have their say.

The Northeastern Ontario Rail Network and the Committee Promoting Muskoka Rail Travel set up the online survey.

There are several questions that cover the reasons people may use the train or how many times they may go to and from Toronto, even if they prefer morning or evening travel.

The survey is open until June 30th, 2019.

Officials say the results will be be provided to Ontario Northland in July.
