July was a sizzler but The Weather Network believes temperatures will simmer down a bit in August.
Meteorologist Doug Gilham tells BayToday it’s been a changeable summer.
“We have gone from a June that was cooler than normal to a July that is warmer than normal. At this point the two offset each other so our temperature since June 1 has been right on normal,” he says.
Gilham says how the next month plays out will decide how the summer of 2019 will be remembered.
He says they haven’t finalized their August forecast yet, but near or slightly below temperatures are expected.
“We have some hot weather coming this weekend, but that may be the peek of the heat for the summer with a bit of a cooler pattern developing as we go into August,” he tells BayToday.
Gilham also says they don’t expect an early fall with warmer than normal temperatures in September.
