Sudden death investigation in North Bay

The coroner is investigating after a sudden death yesterday (Thursday).

Police were dispatched to the beach area of Lake Nipissing at the end of Marshall Avenue West just before 11 am, following a report of a sudden death.

Police say the deceased has been identified as a 50-year old North Bay man.

Next of kin have been notified.

The cause of death has not been confirmed at this time.

Police also report a 28 year old man is facing an assault charge after an incident at the hospital yesterday (Thursday).

Police say a man brought a friend to Emergency then laid down blocking the emergency room doorway, causing a scene.

It’s further alleged a security guard was assaulted.

And an investigation has led to a break and enter charge for a 30 year old city woman.

Police say around two o’clock Monday morning an unlocked apartment on Trout Lake Road was entered with a portable media player and bike accessory taken.
