An update involving this weekend’s ‘Music on the Slopes’ outdoor concert at Laurentian Ski Hill.

Because of the wet weather tomorrow, the event is now taking place on Sunday, September 8th.

After the inaugural event was a success last year, this year’s outdoor concert at the top of the ski hill includes three bands playing classic rock.

Tickets are $10, while kids five and under are free.

The event goes from 3 pm to 9 pm on Sunday.

A fundraising barbecue goes tomorrow in East Ferris as KRMT Wellness Studio celebrates their recently expanded facility at 5 Champagne Road.

Wellness providers at the studio offer registered message therapy and yoga with a variety of classes and workshops.

The barbecue fundraiser is supporting a forest playground and nutrition program at schools in East Ferris.

The event starts with a ribbon cutting at 11 am.

Officials say small businesses and entrepreneurship is on the rise in East Ferris with over 100 registered small businesses in the municipality of just under 5,000 residents.

And a unique trail experience with smartphones goes tomorrow at the Laurier Woods Conservation Area.

Officials say the free outing involves storytelling, science & environmental education with the Forest Talk ‘app’.

Hikers are asked to bring their smartphones and earphones, along with appropriate footwear and meet at 10 am at Brule Street parking lot entrance to the woods.
