A 34 year old North Bay man has been charged with eight counts of assault and single counts of uttering a threat, forcible confinement and assault with a weapon.

Police say the victim was struck in the head with a male’s hand.

Once police arrived the victim detailed a history of assaults.

The name of the accused will not be released as the victim and the accused have been in a relationship for several years and they are protecting her identity.

A 46 year old Trout Creek man has been charged with several offenses including mischief, possession of break-in tools and carrying a concealed weapon.

Police say someone was attempting to gain entry to a residence on Clarence Street on Saturday and was also seen spray painting a wall.

Police say they also discovered a knife on the male.
