North Bay OPP are advising residents in Bonfield to be vigilant of their personal safety and keep their doors locked after a ‘serious assault’.

Officers were called to a residence on Church Street Saturday night around 11:30 pm and found a person with life threatening injuries inside.

OPP say the person is now in stable condition at hospital.

The North Bay OPP Crime Unit is investigating.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding this incident or anyone who was in the Bonfield area on the evening of September 21st or early morning of September 22nd and observed anything suspicious, to call the OPP immediately at 1-888-310-1122.

North Bay OPP say a vehicle stuck on a Corbeil Road property on Saturday night was stolen.

Police say the vehicle’s occupants fled the area.

As well,  North Bay OPP are investigating a break, enter and theft that happened last Tuesday in East Ferris Township. Police say a quantity of cash was stolen.
