The province is providing $3 million towards more than 260 seniors support projects across Ontario including one locally.

The city is getting $9,600 for a Seniors Cyber Crime Awareness Education Program to educate local seniors on techniques to protect themselves.

The province says this funding will address the needs of seniors living in underserviced, rural, remote, multicultural and Francophone communities, including initiatives that focus on elder abuse, programs and services that help prevent social isolation, increasing accessibility and seniors’ safety and activities that help keep seniors physically and socially active.
