OPP are asking for any witnesses to yesterday’s fatal crash on Highway 17 in East Ferris to come forward.

Police say two vehicles — one eastbound and one westbound — collided at about 4:45 pm yesterday.

A 74 year old passenger in the eastbound vehicle was killed.

Their identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Four other people were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the highway was closed for about five hours after the crash.

The investigation continues.

Meantime, a fail to remain collision just after midnight yesterday has city police looking for a black and white Jeep Liberty.

North Bay Police say the crash happened on High Street, near the corner of Algonquin.

They say the vehicle left the roadway and struck an apartment building.

There were no injuries reported and the amount of damage is not known at this time.
