The North Bay Food Bank has launched a new donation collecting initiative called ‘My Team Cares’.

It evolves from the very successful Coach4Food program and welcomes any type of ‘team’ to register and get involved.

Food Bank Manager Amber Livingstone says that can include any sports teams, businesses, groups like girls guides and others.

“It gives everyone a chance to be a Food Bank Champion, young and old, if you’re six years old and having a birthday party and collecting for the Food Bank, you can register for this which is really exciting as a little kid who maybe doesn’t think they can make a big change in their community, they really can, you can be a part of this,” she says.

Co-chair Deb Marson (pictured below) says it’s a year-round initiative too.

“We’re going to go from November 2019, to October 2020 and we’ll start again every year, so we have a sustainable program, year-long for the Food Bank,” she says.
