voodoosThe Powassan Voodoos had their home opener Monday night and won 4-3 in overtime over the Elliot Lake Wildcats.

Battalion prospect Garrett Forrest made 27 saves in the Voodoos net, including a game saving stop in OT on a penalty shot.

Defenceman Christian Whitcomb then scored the game winning goal at 3:48 of the extra frame.

Nicky Grose, Tyler Peters and Nathaniel McLeod also scored for the Voodoos while Jake Staples had two assists.

The two teams meet up again Friday in Elliot Lake.

After a pair of victories, Powassan is 2 and 0 on the young NOJHL season.
