Construction value in North Bay hasn’t been this high since 2006.
The city says 2019 building permit values have surpassed $93 million dollars.
More than half is in commercial projects, with residential, institutional and industrial work underway too:
Commercial – nearly $50 million
Residential — about $20.2 million
Industrial — $11.6 million
Institutional — $10.5 million
Officials say new construction is a positive economic indicator and it’s good news for residential taxpayers too.
That’s because it adds assessment that will pay for municipal programs and services in the future.
