For three decades Downtown North Bay has welcomed in the holiday season with the Ol’ Fashion Christmas Walk and the tradition continues tonight.

Executive Director Kimberly James says the 31st annual event starts at 6 pm with the tree lighting at Main and Fraser.

“The Vox Choir is going to be singing underneath the tree this year,” she says.

Something new is a movie at 6:30 pm in the empty lot on the 100 Block of Main West.

“I’m not going to quite say it (the title) because I want the anticipation for people to come down and see it, but what I can say is that it was filmed in North Bay,” she says.

Horse and wagon rides and hydro bucket rides are back this year, along with the Holiday Hub with crafters and more.

“We’ll have local makers in there, you can go get selfies with Santa and all your Christmas presents can be wrapped for donations to either the Food Bank or the Warming Centre at the former Gd2Go location,” James says.

There’s also the Cheapskates Rail Jam, but, that’s not all.

“The finale this year is at 9 o’clock sharp, fireworks will be going off again this year,” she says.
