Santa is almost ready to start delivering Christmas presents and 22 Wing CFB North Bay officials are ready for his cross-Canada tour too.

Captain Bradley Ticky says 21 Aerospace Control and Warning Squadron will detect, identify, and escort Santa as he enters Canadian airspace tomorrow night (Wednesday).

“First we’re going to see him on our radar, then we’ll transition to satellite imaging because we can pick up Rudolph’s red nose via infrared,” he says. “Then we’ll send up our fighter jets, and they’ll meet him, usually off the coast of Newfoundland, where he likes that pilot-to-pilot interaction, then we’ll escort him across Canada.”

He says there’s a few ways kids can follow along.

“They can visit noradsanta.org, or they can call in to call 1-877-Hi-NORAD (1-877-446-6723),” he says. “We have a couple social media outlets as well, such as Facebook and Twitter, or the NTS (NORAD Tracks Santa) app.”

For over 60 years NORAD has been tracking Santa on his journey across Canada and the U.S.
