The Nipissing Lakers women’s hockey team has moved up a spot in the USports top 10 — to number nine in Canada.

The Lakers won their only game last weekend to improve to 10-5 on the season. Nipissing is home to Laurier and Waterloo this weekend.

Eight North Bay Figure Skating Club members won medals at the Skate Ontario Super Series event in Sault Ste Marie last weekend.
Local skaters combined to win two gold and one silver in team events.
Club members won another eight gold medals in individual events along with six silver and two bronze.

The North Bay & District Minor Peewee AAA Trappers had a busy weekend with three games against Sudbury.

The Trappers lost all three games by scores of 8-3, 6-2 and 7-2.
