Environment Canada has issued a snow squall watch for the North Bay area which includes North Bay, Mattawa, Powassan and West Nipissing.

The watch says brief and intense snowfall is expected to develop.

Under the snow squall, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow.

A snow squall is expected this evening along a sharp cold front.
Snowfall accumulations up to 5 centimetres are possible by the time a  cold front passes.
