The north has it’s first case of the new coronavirus.

Sudbury public health says a man in his 50’s tested positive for COVID-19 after he went to the emergency department at Health Sciences North on Saturday.

He’s now in self-isolation.

The investigation is ongoing, but officials say the man attended the Prospectors and Developers Association conference in Toronto on March 2nd and 3rd.

A number of North Bay companies and officials were also at that conference.

There are now 37 cases of the virus in Ontario.
