A five month investigation by North Bay Police, Sudbury Police and OPP has led to 64 charges against seven people from West Nipissing and area.

Police seized cocaine, hydro morphone pills, methamphetamine, crystal meth, methamphetamine tablets and fentanyl throughout West Nipissing and the surrounding area.

Police also seized 12 cellphones as well as $5,300 in Canadian currency, ammunition and two vehicles.

A Sturgeon Falls male and a Garden Village man are facing aggravated assault, disguise with intent and break and enter counts after a Wednesday incident.

Police say an altercation ensued between five individuals.

Two people were assaulted by three assailants wearing balaclavas.

A 22 year old man suffered stab wounds to his upper body.

The injuries are described as serious but none life threatening.

Also injured was a 29 year old female.

Police are still looking for a third person.

A 35 year old Sudbury woman has been charged with failing to comply with failing or refusing to comply with police demand.

Police say they received a report of a possible impaired driver in West Nipissing.

The motorist was issued a 90-day Automatic Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The Nipissing West detachment says 16 motorists have been charged by their officers this year with impaired driving offenses.

There were 62 last year.
