The city says with the reconstruction of the 11/17 and Seymour intersection ramping up, travellers could face traffic disruptions in the coming weeks.

Officials say that’s the case even with reduced traffic around COVID-19.

Blasting and storm sewer reconstruction will take place between 7 am and 7 pm with temporary closures of the northbound east through lane and northbound right turn lane.

Right turns are permitted at the intersection.

This work schedule will be reviewed and revised as required on an ongoing basis.

Travellers should consider adding extra time to their schedule when using this intersection or take an alternate route as follows:
– vehicles travelling northbound on King’s Hwy No 17, detour onto Hwy 94 towards Callander and then north to Lakeshore Drive and then using the City’s road network, get to their destination; or
– vehicles travelling northbound on King’s Hwy No 17, stay on the inside lane and travel south on King’s Hwy No 11 at the over pass to Lakeshore Drive and then using the City’s road network, get to their destination;
– vehicles travelling northbound on King’s Hwy No. 11, should take the off ramp at Lakeshore Drive and then using the City’s road network, get to their destination
– vehicles travelling southbound should take any of the arterial roads connected to Hwy 11/17 and using the City’s road network make their way to either King’s Hwy No. 11 or King’s Hwy No. 17
