A rainfall warning in effect for much of the northeast, including the North Bay area.

At the same time, the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry have both issued water safety statements.

Officials say 30-50 mm of rain is possible in some parts of the area today and tomorrow.

With most of the snow gone and generally below average levels, flooding is not expected.

However, water could accumulate on roadways, parking lots and flat or low lying areas.

Parents are encouraged to keep children and pets away from watercourses and water bodies.
