Last week, the Country Music Association of Ontario announced the list of final nominees for this year’s Ontario Country Music Awards. Before taking a look at the nominee’s for the Fans’ Choice award, voting is now open for fans to cast their votes throughout the month of May at www.cmaontario.ca/awards/voting. Combining those votes with those cast by members of the CMAOntario will determine the winner of the award. While the public has the entire month of May to vote, members have until May 6 to cast their ballots.

This year’s nominees are: James Barker Band, Jade Eagleson, Tim Hicks, Meghan Patrick, The Reklaws and Tebey. This is Jade’s first time as a nominee in this category. The rest have been nominated before and were all nominated last year.

And here’s the list of previous winners: Cold Creek County (2016), James Barker Band (2017), Meghan Patrick (2018, 2019).

Tim Hicks is the only nominee to have been nominated every year since the award began in 2016. Not only is Meghan Patrick the only solo female artist to win, she’s the only solo female artist to have been nominated in the history of this award. She also holds the record for most wins with 2, which coincides with her record for most consecutive wins (2018, 2019). Meghan is also the only solo artist to win.

Congrats and good luck to all the nominees.

The Ontario Country Music Awards return to London this year and are scheduled for Oct. 4.
