Work begins next week on road resurfacing in the city.

Last week council approved the $3.6 million contract.

The work involves over 30 streets and a portion of the Kate Pace Way east from Lee Park.

Officials say the reconstruction and rehabilitation work, which is slated to continue until the end of October, involves pulverizing, milling, paving, granular shouldering and gutter replacement.

Traffic will be impacted with detours set up if needed.
