With more services given government approval for reopening, the YMCA is updating it’s members and the community.
Officials say YMCA Child Care and YMCA Summer Club services will begin to gradually reopen in North Bay on Monday, June 29th.
Meantime, a survey is being done to help the YMCA shape delivery and program options with YMCA Summer Day Camp.
Here is a link to the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/9MH2Q2R
In terms of aquatics, the pool remains closed with no reopening date yet.
The YMCA National Reactivation Committee recommends aquatic facilities reopen last in the sequence YMCA Health, Fitness & Aquatics Facilities.

COVID-19 has lead to a couple more events being lined up virtually.
The Near North Palliative Care Network is hosting their 11th annual Live Butterfly Release live on Facebook this year.
The fundraising event takes place Saturday, July 11th at noon, from the gardens of St. Joseph Motherhouse.
Live butterflies are released on behalf of donors and in memory of loved ones who have passed away.
To make a donation call NNPCN at 705-497-9239, email office@nnpcn.com or donate online by visiting the network’s website nnpcn.com
All proceeds stay with the NNPCN to allow Visiting Hospice to continue providing free palliative care and bereavement services locally, to all communities in Nipissing and East Parry Sound Districts: Sturgeon Falls, Mattawa, Temagami, Sundridge, Port Loring, North Bay and more.

North Bay Pride is planning a Facebook live talent show in mid-September and they’re looking for talented people from the 2SLGBTQ+ community to take part.
Officials say they know they can’t hold a regular festival this year because of COVID-19 so they came up with the idea of promoting local talent to raise pride spirits and show what the North Bay area can do.
“We are looking for talent, any talent. We want to see what North Bay and Area has to offer so we can show the world, what we are about. We are proud of who we are and how far we have come so let us show a new side of pride that is not normally shared on such a large platform like Facebook. We have limited number of spaces to fill but let us know what you can do,” says Bobby Lagassie, who is helping organize the talent with Jenn Tennant.
“Pride is a protest and will always be a protest. We can see how much Pride is needed these days,” said Jason Maclennan, Media relations. “Black Lives Matter and our Indigenous communities remind us that society is still challenged by the colour of one’s skin and sexual orientation. Until discrimination ends and everyone is treated equally, there will be no rest for Pride across Canada. This is exactly why Pride is still so important today. Pride is to stand shoulder to shoulder and stand by those who face oppression. We stand with our community; we stand with our Indigenous families and we stand with Black Lives Matter. We must not ever forget the grassroots of Pride.”
Those from the 2SLGBTQ+ Community that are interested in showcasing their talent, can email PrideEvents2020@gmail.com for more information.
The deadline is June 30th.
