The OPP says seven people died in Ontario on OPP-patrolled roads and waterways on Canada Day week.

Five died in motor vehicle collisions and two in boating incidents.

The stats were complied from the Canada Day week traffic campaign.

Other major issues cited were aggressive driving with over 9,400 charges of the 14,500 charges laid .

There were also close to 200 distracted driving charges laid and 780 charges for non-compliance with laws associated with life jackets, helmets and seatbelts.
