North Bay OPP report the victim of a fatal single vehicle motorcycle crash Friday afternoon was a 57 year old Scarborough resident.

The incident happened on Hwy 533, near Harrington Lake in unincorporated territory.

Police say the driver succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

 

North Bay OPP report the 25th impaired driving charge of the year was filed on the weekend.

Around 1:30 Sunday morning, police responded to a traffic complaint about a vehicle swerving on a road in the Callander area.

The vehicle was located and stopped on the bypass in North Bay.

As a result of the investigation a 26 year old North Bay resident was charged with impaired.

Meantime, of the 25 drivers that have been charged with impaired by North Bay OPP this year, police say 80 percent were male.

They also say seven of the total charges involved impaired by drug.

Over a third of the incidents were traffic complaints, made by members of the public.

A 15 year old from Markstay-Warren has been charged with spousal assault.

Police say the charge was laid after police responded to a domestic dispute in Markstay-Warren earlier this month.

A 31 year old Strong Township man is facing multiple charges after police stopped a motor vehicle for missing license plates last week in Machar Township.

The charges include possession of methamphetamine, driving a vehicle with no plates, driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available and operating a motor vehicle on a highway with no insurance.
