A 45 year old North Bay man has been charged with break and enter and theft after a recent break-in in Powassan. North Bay OPP report numerous tools and solar panels were stolen from a residence on Weiler Line on August 8th.

North Bay OPP have charged a 40 year old Huntsville resident after an incident around 4 am on June 5th. Police came across an SUV at the Mattawa marina and made attempts to engage the driver. Police say the suspect vehicle struck an OPP cruiser as it fled and headed eastbound on Hwy 17. The investigation led charges of operation while prohibited, dangerous operation, fail to stop after an accident and fail to report an accident.

A 50 year old North Bay resident is the 30th impaired driver charged this year by North Bay OPP. Police were conducting a RIDE check on the bypass in the city around 1 am on Wednesday when officers detected the odour of alcohol on the breath of a driver. A roadside test was conducted with the driver arrested and brought to the detachment for further testing.

Nipissing West OPP report an overdue fisherman on Thistle Lake in Field is safe after being reported missing on Wednesday night. Police say it turns out the 90 year old man from Waterloos boat engine shut off and wouldn’t restart. That’s when the boat drifted and went down an eight foot drop to the bottom of some rapids. He was located by OPP Aviation Services around 12:30 in the morning, but because of the extreme rough terrain and remote location, neither OPP Marine or chopper units could get close enough. The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre out of Trenton was called in for assistance. Around 530 am the man, who was in good health, was rescued and taken to hospital as a precaution.

Three Ottawa residents have been charged with drug related offenses after a vehicle was stopped during a RIDE spot check on Wednesday morning at 2 am on the North Bay Bypass.

Police say they seized a a large amount of Canadian cash and numerous drugs including suspected fentanyl, hydromorphone and cannabis.

The charges include possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime.

Nipissing West OPP are on the lookout for a missing 26 year old Sudbury female.

Constance Richards was last seen on on August 4th in the area of Fox Lake Road near Cartier.

She’s described as caucasian, 5’4” tall,weighing 120 lbs, a thin build, with long brown hair and brown eyes with several tattoos.
