The two day NHL Draft begins tonight at 7 on Rogers Sportsnet.

It’s just the first round tonight. Subsequent rounds will be held tomorrow.

Two North Bay Battalion players will be watching as to where they’ll go: Brandon Coe who is rated 35th for North American Skaters in NHL Central Scouting and defenseman Avery Winslow.

General Manager Adam Dennis told BayToday Coe could become the highest drafted North Bay Battalion player if he’s chosen in the first two rounds.

“Brandon certainly has first round capabilities in terms of ability and potential. We’re certainly excited for his opportunity,” Dennis says.

As for Winslow, he says it’ll be interesting to see how his small sample will be judged. He played 12 games for the Battalion last season and he was injured too.
