There have now been 52 motorists charged with impaired driving within the North Bay OPP detachment area this year.

The last four came in the last few days as a 38 year old North Bay man, a 42 year old Cambridge male, a 39 year old Moose Factory male and a 30 year old city man were charged in incidents last Wednesday on Lakeshore Drive ,last Thursday on the North Bay By-pass, Friday night in Patterson Township and Saturday on Highway 63.

An advisory from the North Bay Detachment of the OPP about reports of vehicles speeding in East Ferris and Powassan.

Detachment Commander, Staff Sergeant Bill McMullen says they will be specifically focusing in the above listed areas looking for traffic violations including speeding.

He says the idea is to increase awareness on the importance of highway safety for everyone.

The Nipissing West OPP involved in rescuing a stranded boater on Sunday night near Alban.

A boat had become stuck on a rock and four hours after receiving the report the boater from Brandt County was rescued and treated for mild Hypothermia before being released.
