Three Grade 12 students at Chippewa Secondary School are doing their part for North Bay’s vulnerable population.

Adeolu Agboola, Lisa Zhao and Lucas Porto are raising funds which will go towards care packages.

Lucas says they include information on COVID-19 but other items too.

“Individual bottles of hand sanitizer, face masks and rubber gloves. We have women’s products like pads and tampons and winter supplies including socks, hats, hand warmers and lotions,” he says.

He says they hope to raise $2,500 and you can donate through the Gathering Place donation site.

Porto says there’s a good reason for the name of the project.

“The name of the initiative is The Together Initiative which is from We’re All In This Together. This means in order to rise above COVID we have to be all together so we can all thrive and rise above it as a group,” Porto says.

The packages are expected to be handed out next month.
