A man from Nova Scotia is trying to bring awareness across the country for palliative care.

Ian Bos was in North Bay today (Tuesday) as part of his walk across Canada and he spoke to members of the Nipissing Serenity Hospice Board.

Bos says every community needs a palliative care system, and he learned this first hand.

Mathilde Gravelle-Bazinet is the Chair of the Nipissing Serenitiy Hospice board, and she says they have been working on getting a hospice in North Bay for the last four years. She says Bos’ story provides inspiration to achieve that goal.

Bos says he walks 40 to 50 kilometers a day and camps out every night in his tent.

It has taken him six weeks to get to North Bay, and he plans to go right across to British Columbia.
