A good long weekend for the North Bay Battalion, picking up four points with a win on Saturday in the Soo and Monday’s 4-3 win over Niagara at Memorial Gardens.

That was the Troops first win on home ice this season.

Head Coach Stan Butler liked his teams compete level, “Out of our four home games I think it was by far our best game. Not just because of the results, but I thought we worked a little harder today.”

The Battalion outshot the IceDogs 36-19.

Brett McKenzie scored twice, including the game winning goal, and added an assist.   Brett Hargrave and Cam Dineen also scored in the win.

Butler says it was a battle throughout the game, “It was one of those games, we were always fighting from behind. We always let them get the first goal of each period and forced us to battle back.”

Next up, North Bay entertains Hamilton on Thursday.
