Irwin_Prescott_210There will be a Tribute show to the late Irwin Prescott here in North Bay.

Prescott was a well known Country and Western Artist from the Gateway City, who performed all over the country in the 1950’s and 60’s.

His son Randall says there will be some voices from the past taking part in this show.

He says that includes Laverne Hummel, Leo Secord, Craig Nesbitt and more.

Prescott says it will be mostly an acoustic show at Partners Billiards on Main Street starting at 7 pm on Saturday.

He says he owes a lot of his career to his father because he “taught me everything I know about entertaining.”

The younger Prescott is one of Canada’s most awarded producer’s, with Gold and Platinum records to his credit, as well as a Grammy nomination in 1999 for Best Engineered Album- Robbie Robertson’s “Contact from the Underworld of Redboy.”

He won Aboriginal Producer of the Year Award, alongside Tom Jackson and is the recipient of 3 Juno Awards.

Prescott says they’ve done a couple of shows in other city’s but really wanted to do one in his fathers home town.

Tickets are available at Partners and Music City, or at the door.
