More remains located, police believe they are human remains

City police have located additional remains and believe they are human remains, after a search of a marsh area on Highway 11 South, north of the Lakeshore Drive turnoff.

The remains have been sent to the Centre of Forensic Science for analysis and confirmation.

Police also say “Based on the evidence collected to date, the North Bay Police Service does not believe the remains belong to any local missing persons, including Luke Joly-Durocher or Robert Aho.”

Deputy Chief Shawn Devine has more on that.

Police say they continue to liaise with other police services in an attempt to resolve this case.

Devine talked about the difficulties of conducting a search in the marsh area.

The investigation is ongoing.
