tanya vrebosch Chair of Engineering and Works Tanya Vrebosch was Matthew Sookram’s guest this morning on Council Capsule.

Some of the city’s capital projects were brought up and Vrebosch says they are determined to get a number of them finished this year.

Vrebosch says Pinewood Park Drive, Ferguson Street, the John Street Bridge and Cedar Heights are all underway.

Meantime, they also discussed the Invest North Bay Economic Development Corporation.

Vrebosch was asked what the goals are for this corporation.

Vrebosch says their focus is on bringing in industries to North Bay, which is something the city needs.

She says there are a lot of things working against the city such as building businesses in the North and being farther away from the major urban centres. However, she points out having the 10-thousand foot runway is a huge advantage for North Bay.

Commercialization of the waterfront was also a topic and Vrebosch detailed what she thinks could be in store for the North Bay waterfront.

Vrebosch says they will have to work with the Downtown Improvement Area and the Waterfront Friends to find what works for the area.
