Canadore College has signed an an agreement with an on line platform called Hard Hat Hunter.

It is geared to people who work in the trades and it will allow students to highlight themselves to prospective employers.

Samantha Dyck is the operations manager at Hard Hat Hunter.

She says they launched last year and this is the first college they have a partnership with.

Dyck says Hard Hat Hunter will be incorporated into the college’s trades programs and both marketing and media and skilled trades students will be involved.

She says students can view videos on tasks like hanging a door or reading blueprints.

College vice president Shawn Chorney says skilled trades are a big deal at the college and Hard Hat Hunter is a useful resource that the college can give to its students.

As well, she says the students will have new contacts including business owners and unions.
