Police (north bay)North Bay Police are reporting two youths are in custody after a pursuit Wednesday night.

Acting Staff Sgt Jim Kilroy says it all started with a recent report of a stolen vehicle from North Bay.

Kilroy says the main goal in any pursuit is to ensure the safety of bystanders, the people in the vehicle and the officers too.

In this case, he says their biggest concern was that the vehicle was headed towards the bypass.

Overall, Kilroy says it was excellent work by the officers involved.

The vehicle was first spotted on the overpass, heading on to Main Street.

After being pulled over on Second Avenue, police say the vehicle fled the scene when the officer got out of his cruiser.

As we hear from Corporate Communications Coordinator Marie Lugli, two people are facing charges.

They cannot be identified in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police say the vehicle was reported stolen Tuesday night from Cassells Street between 9 pm and 10:40 pm.
